About Swiss Watch Company (SWC)
Stephen Roemer started in watchmaking at age 17 in Biel, Switzerland, working in quality assurance for the Swatch Group. He founded Swiss Watch Company in 1996, which spent years manufacturing timepieces for the U.S. armed forces and first responders and doing contract manufacturing for other brands. In 2018 the company launched its own microbrand line, beginning with the SWC diver via a successful Kickstarter, and has since grown into a full catalog spanning divers, chronographs, GMTs, and the ultralight titanium ARK. SWC is reputedly the only watch company licensed in Switzerland that is permitted to carry 'Swiss' in its name, and its watches are assembled and quality-checked in Switzerland.
