serica-watches.com

Paris-based Serica makes French tool watches with the soul of a Left Bank design studio. Founded by Jérôme Burgert, the brand obsesses over things most makers ignore: custom-drawn numerals, hand profiles, the exact curve of a case flank. The 5303 dive watch and 8315 field watch look like artifacts from an alternate 1960s where France, not Switzerland, won the tool-watch wars. Chronometer-grade movements and sapphire crystals keep them honest as daily wearers.

It's the rare brand equally credible on a dive boat and in a design museum gift shop.

Worth knowing

Small production runs mean frequent sell-outs; the aesthetic is deliberately niche; pricing (~$1,000+) is at the top of the microbrand band for Soprod movements.
