What began as an inside joke among friends, who would sell watches at 'friend prices' tagged #SanturceCollection, grew into a full microbrand putting Puerto Rico on the horological map. Named after the vibrant Santurce district of San Juan, the brand weaves Boricua heritage into every piece: casebacks are engraved with exclusive artwork like 'El Jibaro Buzo' by co-founder and local artist Anita, and models carry Puerto Rican names such as El Tiburon (the shark), Picua (barracuda), and the fearless native birds Guaraguao and Pitirre. Watches are designed in Puerto Rico and assembled in the U.S.A., and the brand has earned recognition from outlets including aBlogtoWatch, WatchGecko, and Teddy Baldassarre's microbrand guides.

Worth knowing

Prices ($899-$999) sit at the upper end of the microbrand range for what are largely off-the-shelf Sellita and Miyota movements, some models ship on a pre-order basis with deliveries estimated months out, and the brand's lineup is still small and dive/pilot focused.
