Founded in Glashütte two months after the Berlin Wall fell, Nomos rebuilt German watchmaking on Bauhaus principles: thin, rational, quietly beautiful. Unlike almost every brand at its price, Nomos designs and builds its own movements — including its own escapement, the 'swing system,' a feat that took seven years and put it in a club with perhaps a dozen manufactures worldwide. The Tangente is the entry point; the Lambda lines are hand-finished to a level that embarrasses watches at five times the price.
