Microbrand
Junghans
junghans.deFrom the Black Forest town of Schramberg, Junghans was once the largest watch factory on earth. Its modern identity rests on one perfect collaboration: Max Bill, the Bauhaus polymath and Ulm school founder, designed a family of watches in 1961 so typographically and proportionally pure that they have never needed updating. The max bill line is functional minimalism at its absolute peak — every numeral, every hand, every spacing decision feels inevitable.
Wearing one is like carrying a small piece of design history that happens to tell the time.
Worth knowing
The famous plexiglass crystal scratches easily (polywatch is your friend), water resistance is minimal on classic models, and movements are standard Sellita/quartz fare.
