Hughes Watch Company is a Philadelphia-based atelier founded in 2026 by Alex Hughes, a bioengineering professor at the University of Pennsylvania who translates complex biological and mechanical design principles into watch dials. Each dial is algorithmically derived from physics, biology, and origami principles, then CNC-milled and hand-finished in Philadelphia to micron tolerances. Swiss Sellita SW200-1 movements power the watches, pairing proven Swiss automation with genuinely original American artisan dial work.
