About DUFA

Germany · est. 1920

The DUFA name traces to the Deutsche Uhrenfabrik trademark registered in Leipzig in 1920, an era of German modernism and the founding of the Bauhaus school. The contemporary brand leans hard into that heritage: its collections are named after Bauhaus figures and architects such as Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, Alvar Aalto, and Konrad Wachsmann, and the dials reflect the movement's ethos of clean typography, functional legibility, and restrained proportions. Watches are designed in Germany and built around dependable Japanese Miyota movements (both quartz and automatic, including regulator and power-reserve calibers), wrapped in 316L stainless steel cases on hand-stitched Italian leather straps. DUFA has become a recognizable entry point into Bauhaus-style watch design at an accessible price, and frequently appears on curated microbrand lists.
