Alexander James Watches is a Chicago-based one-man microbrand founded in 2014 by its namesake designer, who hand-assembles and regulates every watch himself in his workshop. The brand grew from the Seiko modding community, where AJ built a following before launching original production watches; the current A3 Omen series features 38mm automatics with aventurine dials, mother-of-pearl accents, and sapphire crystal at around $650.
